The Davis family read and executed the below tips to perfection and just look at the smiles on their faces! They did very well and did it in less than ideal conditions. These are here for the benefit of your trip and are more important than many realize. So please, give them a read and help me keep my catch rates up.

1) Clothing: Don’t wear bright colors most of the fish we chase have amazing eyes and even if it’s not a factor it never hurts to stack the cards in your favor. ( so leave the hunter orange at home guys please)

2) Hook sets: Every rock is a fish! Set the hook aggressively even when you think it’s a rock sometimes even the best of us are surprised when a monster “rock” starts swimming up stream. Better safe than sorry.

3) Keep the faith: Fish seem to know somehow when we are distracted and will often pick this time to cooperate. So if you find yourself in this common mind set, take a break and have a snack or cup of Joe. There is nothing more frustrating than a missed opportunity and knowing it’s because of lack of focus.

 4)What to bring:

Sleeping bag and bed roll (if taking multi-day trip)

           Raingear

           Sunscreen

           Bugspray

Polarized sunglasses (this item kills fish, just as important as the rod & reel!)

Sturdy wading gear (waders, feltsoled wading shoes, staff-ect...)

*if bringing waders make sure they are chest and not hip style.

 5) Be aggressive!!!

 * Items in red are key to slaying fish However your comfort is really just as important
